 Come and meet the residents!

Here we have Manuel and all the ladies - Matilda, Florence, Lavinia, Fifi, Mu and Betty!

My sister, Samantha, takes care of all the big girls and we have the littlies shown above!

  Past and Present Honeysuckle Hens

Here we have a silver partridge pekin hatched out on 1 May 2010.  She is called Darcy as she has a beautiful bustle!

This is Manuel, a lavender pekin cockerel.  He hatched out on 4th June 2010 and loves to jump up on the bench next to you for a stroke on the back or a tickle under the chest.

Manuel at 11 weeks old

What a handsome cockerel he is now! He also has a lovely nature and doesn't peck your hand and hold onto the skin any more - thank goodness! He looks after the ladies well too.

 Manuel all grown up!

This is the lovely Fifi, our white pekin.

What a beautiful bustle she has!

Strike a pose!

My sister also has a few hens.  Here is Lizzie, an allotment hen, and the lovely Leila, a pekin (12 weeks old) and two maran crosses called Angelina and Cleo (also 12 weeks old).  29 August 2010 (See Chicken Tales)

Our Original 5 Allotment Chickens!!

I have just found these photos out of the original allotment chickens that started off our chicken adventures.  Three of them turned out to be cockerels! They are about 8 weeks old here and this was when they first arrived.

This is Mu, our silkie (hatched 1 May 2010).  Still unsure if it is a girl or a boy.  We will call it a 'she' as I have always been an optimist!  She runs around in a very entertaining fashion which reminds me of an emu or ostrich.  Hence, the name Mu short for Emu.

I can now tell you that Mu is a girl as she has laid eggs and is in fact broody!  (Feb 2011)

Mu at 16 weeks old taking a drink with Manuel showing his best side behind her!  Bums up!

This is Arwen, one of our 3 amber rangers and she takes life very steadily.  She often has to be picked up to be moved about as the 'shooing' method doesn't work with her!

Arwen - a laid back lady!

This is Betty.  She is believed to be a Japanese bantam and for her size (small), she is very bossy!  She also lays a good sized white egg and even bosses Manuel about!

Boss Lady!

Here is Craig keeping an eye on our 'big girls'.

This was taken in May 2009 and I felt I had to show it now I had discovered it again!  I don't think Craig is too keen though!

 A sunny day in May!

I think Martin is asking Esme, our amber ranger hybrid, if she thinks it is going to rain!

 What do you think Esme?
